Os Yanomamis representam um dos maiores grupos indígenas brasileiros. Vivem em Roraima em terras indígenas constantemente ameaçadas pela presença de madeireiros e garimpeiros. Mantém a tradição de produção de cestaria com cipó-titica com detalhes de fios de fungo negro, pinturas de tintas naturais e tiras de raízes pretas da palmeira paxiubinha. Trançam dois tipos de ponto, um fechado e um aberto. Os artesãos responsáveis por essas criações fazem parte da Hutukara Associação Yanomami, fundada em 2004 na comunidade Watoriki, região Demini. A sede atualmente é em Boa Vista (RR).

The Yanomami represent one of the largest Brazilian indigenous groups. They live in Roraima on indigenous lands that are constantly threatened by the presence of loggers and miners. It maintains the tradition of producing basketry with vines with details of black fungus threads, natural paints and strips of black roots from the paxiubinha palm tree. They braid two types of stitches, one closed and one open. The artisans responsible for these creations are part of the Hutukara Yanomami Association, founded in 2004 in the Watoriki community, Demini region. The headquarters are currently in Boa Vista (RR).
